Valencia can’t do anything right. As Manchester United look to be leaving behind their earlier season woes, and there’s a building optimism around the club, the opposite could be said for Valencia.

Looking to bring in players on value deals, and likely loans, during the winter transfer window, one of the options was reported to be Manchester United’s Marcos Rojo. The Argentine international wasn’t exactly excelling under Mourinho, and an exit sooner or later looked possible.

Spanish newspaper Marca now say it’s a ‘broken dream’ for Peter Lim, and there’s several reasons for that. Most importantly, Rojo looks to have turned a corner and is playing the best football of his Manchester United career. It’s only a period which has lasted a few games, but at the very least it’s given Rojo a stay of execution.

Rojo to Valencia isn’t happening, and the Spanish club will have to look elsewhere. Given they’re trying to sign Simone Zaza to change their fortunes upfront, it’s a wonder just who they’ll pick for the defence.

Valencia are having problems identifying players, then signing them, and also getting them to play well once they’re arrived. Basically, everything is going wrong.
