The Daily Simone Zaza. Some encouraging signs for West Ham United supporters come from Spanish newspaper AS this weekend.

It’s explained that Valencia are very keen to sign Zaza, something confirmed by the club themselves last week, but there’s a problem.

West Ham simply aren’t prepared to accept any terms thrown at them from Valencia. The Spanish club would like to loan Zaza from Juventus for the rest of the season, and would prefer to do so for free, paying a part of the player’s wages.

It’s becoming increasingly clear Slaven Bilic isn’t counting on Zaza and therefore an exit makes sense. West Ham would have to make the move permanent, and pay an extra €20m, should Zaza play a few more games, and so their stance is bold.

On one hand it’s entirely commendable that West Ham are standing their ground, and on the other hand they don’t want to blow things and end up with highly paid Zaza stuck on the bench for the second half of the season, just like he has been for the first.
