With Antony not doing great at Manchester United this season, rumours in the Brazilian media recently linked him with a return to his home country, where Flamengo and São Paulo were named as potential destinations.

Journalist Jorge Nicola now comes up with a video to talk about the situation. He spoke to people from the winger’s staff and claims to have learned about the real scenario involving the 23-year-old.

An individual from Antony’s entourage told the reporter that the player is not returning to Brazil at this time, regardless of the club.

It’s said that after investing €100m on his signing, Manchester United ‘will insist’ on the player. There’s ‘hope’ at the club that he’ll recover his good football as Erik ten Hag trusts him.

Even if the Red Devils get to the point that they begin to lose faith, they’d rather keep him Europe than loan him back to Brazil.

Nicola then says Antony’s return to his country should be ‘ruled out’, as it always seemed like a ‘crazy speculation’ and now his staff states that it’s not happening.

Playing for Manchester United this season, the winger has no goals or assists in 11 appearances.
