It’s never been a secret that Chelsea defender Thiago Silva wants to finish his career at Fluminense, and has been teasing about this comeback for a while.

Now according to journalist Jorge Nicola, that saga could soon be coming to an end.

It’s said that with Fluminense about to sell Nino to Nottingham Forest, they’re going after a new centre-back, and Thiago Silva is the ‘dream name’.

Silva’s contract with Chelsea expires at the end of the season, and that’s why there’s a ‘small chance’ that a move could be done in the winter market.

Still, there’s a ‘negotiation underway’ for him to make the move as a free agent in the summer and end his career there.

Fluminense won the Copa Libertadores at the weekend and Silva made many social media comments about the title. He even got some abuse from fans who claimed he should have been in their squad and chose not to.

The veteran instead decided to sign a new deal with Chelsea, and missed out on the glorious match.

Silva is now 39-years-of-age, turning 40 in September, so next summer is definitely a good time to make that last move in his career.
