With Christian Eriksen getting sidelined for a few months because of an injury, it’s no surprise to see Manchester United going after a new midfielder on deadline day.

And among the many targets the Red Devils may try in the coming hours, one is now revealed by Sky Sport Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg. And that’s Bayern Munich’s Marcel Sabitzer.

His report claims that Manchester United have ‘inquired’ about the player today and are currently ‘pushing’ for the transfer while in negotiations with the Bundesliga giants.

For now, there’s no information on how much would be paid for his signing, or even if the Red Devils’ idea is to have him on a loan or a permanent move.

Besides Manchester United, Chelsea are also said to be interested in bringing Sabitzer to the Premier League. The Blues could miss out on the signing of Enzo Fernandez from Benfica, and judging by the money they were about to spend on the Argentine player, they could offer the Red Devils some big competition for the Bayern Munich midfielder.
