With Fred seemingly on his way to Fenerbahçe, Manchester United will now need a replacement, and Erik ten Hag knows exactly who he wants that to be.

That will be Sofyan Amrabat, who has been on the Red Devils’ radar for weeks now without a serious offer, at least one Fiorentina would accept, being made.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, that is likely to change very soon, when Fred heads to Turkey and new money ends up in Manchester United’s bank account.

They explain that despite Juventus coming in and being interested in the Morocco international, they don’t have the money to fully please the Florence based side.

That’s why Manchester United still have an advantage, as they now ‘have the possibility to raise the offer’, and getting near to Fiorentina’s demands of €30m.

As for the Serie A giants, it’s said they could only seriously go for Amrabat if they manage to pull off further sales or if their league rivals open up the door to a loan, which seems like a distant dream right now.

Therefore, Manchester United have the advantage as things stand.
