Earlier today, Fanatik journalist Yakup Çınar stated Aston Villa officials have made a trip to Istanbul to sign Nicolò Zaniolo. This claim surfaced after Unai Emery publicly admitted the Galatasaray star is included in their target list.

The Italy international’s desire is to join Juventus but that won’t be easy because of the Villans and Zenit St. Petersburg.

Calciomerctao state both the Aston Villa and Zenit offers are ‘on the table’, with the latter even proposing a €9m per year salary to the 24-year-old.

Calciomercato journalist Giancarlo Padovan claims a move to Russia is ‘inadmissible’ from the technical point of view because their league isn’t of a high level, and from the ethical point of view due to Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine.

On the other hand, joining the Premier League side will see him play in one of the best leagues in the world and also in the Europa Conference League. Therefore, Padovan says Aston Villa may be the ‘almost ideal solution’ for Zaniolo.

Aston Villa director Monchi knows Zaniolo well as he signed him for AS Roma in 2018, when the Spaniard was the sporting director of the Serie A side.
