Everton kick-off the 2023/24 season with a clash against Fulham at Goodison Park at 3pm tomorrow.

In his pre-match press conference, Sean Dyche revealed the Toffees are edging closer to completing a deal for Sporting’s Youssef Chermiti. His comments are relayed by today’s O Jogo, who then explain when the transfer would be announced.

It’s claimed the 19-year-old has already completed his Everton medical on Thursday and his deal will be made official today.

O Jogo state the striker should be given permission to be registered as a new Everton player today so that he can make his debut for the Merseyside club against Fulham on Saturday.

However, the newspaper states it’s ‘unlikely’ he’ll actually be part of the squad to face Marco Silva’s side.

Over at Record, they also state the Portugal U19 international has completed his medical tests and signed a contract with the Merseyside club.

They further add Chermiti has received a work permit to play in the UK.

Chermiti’s move to Everton will be made official soon and this will allow Sporting to collect €15m plus €5m as potential bonuses.
