Karadeniz Gazete have reported on the latest developments regarding the future of Southampton forward Paul Onuachu ahead of the summer window. The Nigeria international has spent the season on loan at Trabzonspor and has impressed for the Super Lig side.
According to the Turkish media outlet, Trabzonspor want the Southampton player to remain at the club as one of their priorities ahead of the window is an attacker. However, it’s reported Onuachu’s agent is making the situation difficult and he’s ‘flirting’ with Besiktas and Goztepe over a possible move.
It’s also reported his agent is in constant talks with Southampton over his client’s future and a possible permanent move to Turkey. However, the Championship club will not budge on their valuation of the 29-year-old and have set his transfer fee at €12m.
Despite this, there is belief among the Trabzonspor hierarchy they could get Southampton to reduce the fee if the Saints don’t achieve promotion to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Onuachu has made 21 appearances for the Turkish side this season, scoring 12 goals. He’s contracted to Southampton until June 2026.
