Manchester City are the most likely destination for the Benfica youngster Tiago Dantas, according to the Portuguese press today.

Newspaper Record says the 17-year-old should be leaving the Lisbon side in the summer, and Pep Guardiola’s side are well positioned to get him.

Dantas’ deal expires at the end of the season, and Record claims that the Eagles haven’t been in negotiations to extend it, partly because his entourage is already looking for a new destination.

Manchester City, on the other hand, are pretty pleased with the player’s performances from the player in Benfica’s B team, and have been taking ‘secure steps’ in order to land him for free.

The Citizens are said to be pleased with ‘reports and videos’ they have on the player, and that’s what convinced them to go for him. Dantas already has some appearances in the Youth Champions League as well.

Although Record’s headline says ‘Manchester City will take Dantas’ it’s important to highlight that in the article, the club are only claimed as ‘most likely destination’. So let’s take it easy on this one.
