We’ve only been covering the latest Everton Cebolinha transfer rumours because of two reliable stories we’ve seen about Manchester City’s interest in him.

First, Globo Esporte claimed that Pep Guardiola’s side made an approach before the Copa America. Then, journalist Mauro Cezar Pereira had details about the scouting job they’ve been doing on the player.

Since then, we’ve been seeing more of the same. Grêmio, Everton and his agent keep denying having received any bids, and the attacker makes it clear he won’t hear a thing until the end of the Copa America.

But the Southern Brazil press keeps pushing it, and today, they bring a list of clubs who could afford signing the Grêmio star.

Zero Hora says that Everton is protected by a €80m release clause, and Grêmio accept to negotiate the price, as long as the offers are over €40m.

The report claims that Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, Paris Saint Germain, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are the only clubs who can pay for Everton.

They claim that two mid sized sides were interested in the signing, but gave up after knowing they couldn’t afford the transfer.

What Zero Hora are doing is basically listing the best positioned clubs in the market, and even guessing who could sign the player. That sounds a bit lazy, especially for an article which is labelled as ‘exclusive’.
