Achraf Hakimi’s loan move to Borussia Dortmund is certainly one which has worked out well for parent club Real Madrid. The 21 year old flexible fullback has played 42 matches for BVB so far this season, managing an impressive nine goals and ten assists.

His progress is repeatedly highlighted in the media closest to Real Madrid and it’s assumed that he can an option for Zidane Zinedine going forward. Even if not, the loan move has been so successful that Madrid would be able to get a good price for Achraf in the coming window.

Spain’s Cadena Ser claim Manchester City are keen on the youngster.

It’s stated the Premier League side have ‘insisted the most’ for Achraf’s signing in ‘recent weeks’. They want to know more about the player’s availability, which presumably relates to whether Real Madrid want to cash-in or keep him in their squad.

For Manchester City, much will depend on the CAS ruling, as it will impact their finances and also their attractiveness to players.

Borussia Dortmund may well play a role in this too. Given how well Achraf has done, keeping him around doesn’t seem such a bad idea.
