In February came reports from Spain that next season Pau Lopez will be Tottenham’s second choice goalkeeper, meaning Michel Vorm will leave the London club. The 33 year old extended his Tottenham contract in December, but only until June 2018 and his future is very much under question.

Whilst being edged out by Mauricio Pochettino to make way for Pau wouldn’t be the most enjoyable of experiences, Vorm could have a silver lining on a Tottenham exit. The player may have thought his chances of being Netherlands No. 1 were very slim, but Danny Blind’s complete indecision could help him.

Netherlands manager Blind doesn’t seem to have the slightest clue who his first choice goalkeeper is, or who the three in a squad should be. Vorm was this week included in a provsional Dutch squad for matches set to take place later this month and it’ll give him some hope for the future.

Should the former Swansea City stopper leave Tottenham and go elsewhere as a first choice keeper then he has a very good chance of getting in the Dutch team. Blind looks like he’s crying out for someone to cure his indecision, and Vorm could present himself as that man.

With the World Cup coming next year in Russia, it could give the Tottenham a motivation boost to find a new club and start a fresh chapter of his career.
