While once close to signing for Spartak Moscow in Russia this summer, Tottenham’s Davinson Sánchez then changed his mind and remained with the London side.

That doesn’t mean he will be staying with Ange Postecoglou’s squad for the remainder of the upcoming campaign, however, as Strasbourg, where Patrick Vieira is now the manager, are still after him.

L’Equipe are the ones reporting this on Friday, as they look at some of the deals the Ligue 1 side could still pull off before the end of the transfer window.

It’s said that Vieira wants a defender ‘with experience’, which is where Sánchez comes in, strong from six years at Tottenham and 54 Colombia caps.

He was also a star at Ajax before Spurs decided to spend €42m on him, even if what followed was far from what was expected.

The centre-back is now unwanted at Tottenham, which is why an exit a year from the end of his contract makes the most sense.

Strasbourg know this, and could still make a move in the coming weeks.
