Curaçao manager Dick Advocaat has revealed he is still working to convince Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert and Luton Town’s Tahith Chong to switch allegiance from the Netherlands.

A report in the middle of January covered how Advocaat, who was a surprise appointment for Curaçao earlier this year, was looking to use his influence in Dutch football to try and convince some players to change allegiance.
Advocaat had admitted he was already focusing on several players as he looks to get his new country to the World Cup, with the Bournemouth and Luton Town players chief among his targets.
It appears neither player are keen on the idea as of yet, though, with Advocaat again commenting on the Luton and Bournemouth men when asked about the situation in the Netherlands.
“It is really difficult to convince them to choose Curaçao,” Voetbal Primeur report him saying on Veronica Offside.
“I don’t think you can still get into the Dutch national team when you’re 24 or 25, but I’m not going to tell them that.
“Two or three said no. I won’t mention any names. I understand it from some people. When you are 21 and you have gone through all the youth teams,” he added in reference to Sontje Hansen at NEC to Hansen before stating Chong is still in doubt.
“Kluivert? A boy who was very clear. That’s fine with me.”
