Serhou Guirassy’s performances for VfB Stuttgart this season have caught the attention of several clubs, including Manchester United and West Ham United.
The striker has 27 goals and two assists from 25 games so far and was subjected to firm interest in the winter market.
Bild state Manchester United and West Ham had knocked on the 28-year-old’s door in January.
A deal didn’t shape and the report makes no mention why the English clubs weren’t able to secure his services earlier this year.
It’s explained the Guinea international’s ‘future is open’, considering his €20m release clause will be valid after this season.
There’s been interest from the Premier League recently and Bild mention both Manchester United and West Ham, who had made contact in January. The frontman, for his part, can imagine making a switch to England in the next window.
The €20m clause is affordable for the likes of the Red Devils and David Moyes’ side. The report also makes it clear there’s been no concrete talks yet for his transfer.
Stuttgart sporting director Fabian Wohlgemuth isn’t surprised that other clubs are showing interest in Guirassy.
“He’s having an outstanding season, which of course arouses desire. We exchange information regularly,” he said, as quoted by Bild.
