Everyone knows the Andreas Pereira situation by now, as the Brazil international has failed to make his way into Simone Inzaghi’s plans.

Sent to Lazio by Manchester United on a temporary basis to get the game time he wouldn’t receive at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the midfielder, jack of all trades and master of none, has ended up having to scrounge around for minutes off the bench mixed with the odd start.

Despite his limited time on the pitch, he has managed to endear himself to the Serie A club’s fans on social media, with a report earlier this week labelling him as an ‘idol’ for them.

With more free time than his teammates, Pereira has been interacting with supporters constantly, doing so once again recently, showcasing his special Lazio PlayStation 5 controller, with the message ‘Forza Lazio Sempre’, which loosely translated to ‘Come on Lazio Always’.

La Lazio Siamo Noi cover it, explaining he’s ‘shown great attachment to the shirt several times’, always pointing out ‘how well he feels’ in Rome at his current club, in turn winning the hearts and minds of the crowd.

They then add that ‘if he were to stay, Andreas could be Lazio’s extra weapons for next year as he is not lacking in talent’, but for that to happen, Claudio Lotito would have to send €27m to Manchester United, which, let’s be entirely honest, his four starts (to date) hardly warrant.
