Mikkel Damsgaard agreed a move to Sampdoria from FC Nordsjælland in February 2020, staying in Denmark until the end of the season.

The 20-year-old has adapted quickly to Italian football and has made 26 Serie A appearances during the current campaign, but has rarely completed a match. Despite that, there’s been repeat rumours about interest from elsewhere, with Tottenham one of the club’s most linked with the youngster.

Incredibly versatile, Damsgaard can play across midfield and in attacking positions, and has been used in various roles by manager Claudio Ranieri.

Club Doria report the player has already tripled his value, when compared to the €7m Sampdoria paid for him. It’s stated ‘his destiny seems sealed’ with the Italian club set to make a huge profit, although exactly when that will happen isn’t clear.

Tottenham are the only club named, and it’s explained Spurs have been thinking about his signing ‘constantly’ since January. Ranieri has now been urged to use Damsgaard more between now and the end of the season, and that will only see interest in the player increase.

Spurs will likely be watching.
