Aaron Martin to Manchester City rumours continue in the Spanish media, but not as excitedly as they started.

Catalan newspaper Sport kicked things off by claiming a €20m Manchester City offer had arrived at Espanyol, but it quickly became clear that wasn’t the case.

Sport often jump the gun, and the newspaper’s claims once again turned out to be premature.

Friday’s edition of AS has a little snippet on the Espanyol situation and it’s stated ‘the club awaits’ an offer from Manchester City. That seems to be anticipated for no other reason than the hype surrounding the rumour.

Aaron himself is said to be keen to stay another year with Espanyol, helping him progress more by playing every week.

If the 20 year old were to join Pep Guardiola’s squad the likeliest scenario is he’d be a back-up player, used only to give others rest and cover for injury.

A move in a year may be better for both Aaron, Espanyol, and Manchester City.
