On Tuesday, Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze stated Manchester City continue to push to sign Joško Gvardiol and the RB Leipzig defender is ready to make a switch to the Etihad in the summer window.

The 21-year-old has started pre-season with the German club while there are movements taking place behind the scenes regarding his transfer.

Bild say the centre-back is one of the players set to leave the club and his sale should bring in €100m.

It’s stated he agreed a deal with Manchester City four weeks ago and the agreement between the two clubs is now missing to conclude the operation.

Leipzig earlier postponed talks for Gvardiol as they didn’t want his sale to drive up the price for the signings they wanted to carry out. They aren’t planning to make any further additions at the moment and can make progress to sell him.

It’s claimed the negotiation, likely between the Bundesliga side and the Premier League winners for Gvardiol, is ‘now gaining new momentum’.

Furthermore, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna took to Twitter to claim Pep Guardiola’s side had ‘positive discussions’ with one of the intermediaries of the operation on Tuesday.

After this meeting, Aouna says Manchester City are ‘confident that the club can complete the deal’ for the Croatia international in this window.

He adds the player already has an agreement with the Citizens. In addition to this, there’s also an agreement with the agents and intermediaries with regards to their commission.
