Robert Lewandowski’s plan to get a move to Real Madrid this summer probably isn’t going quite as well as he’d hoped.

The Polish striker ditched his long term agent to appoint Pini Zahavi, with the open secret being he’s looking for a big exit from Bayern Munich and Madrid is the favoured destination.

Bayern haven’t been panicked, they barely seem disturbed, and have kept up the front that if they don’t want to sell then Lewandowski won’t be going anywhere. Real Madrid don’t seem keen to fall out with the German club, so Zahavi’s presence hasn’t yet had the desired impact.

Other clubs have been linked with Lewandowski, and Chelsea is probably the main one after Real Madrid. Stories in Germany, Poland, France and Spain present Chelsea as an alternative should the striker not get the move he wants.

Marca reiterate that, with the Spanish newspaper saying Chelsea have come the the fore as an option in ‘recent days’. The reason for that is the club’s owner Roman Abramovich and his relationship with Zahavi.

This one would be a surprise, but if Lewandowski is absolutely set on a transfer, and Real Madrid aren’t overly keen, then Chelsea could come even more into focus.
