Liverpool January signing Luis Diaz has been hailed as ‘one of the most enjoyable’ players in the world to watch, by former Colombia star Jackson Martinez.

The Reds paid £40.5m deal to Porto, with the Anfield side moving quickly to take advantage of the Portuguese giant’s precarious financial situation.

The Colombian arrived with a big reputation following his three years with the Portuguese giants, for whom he scored 41 goals and registered 19 assists in 125 games.

He has proven to be an instant hit at Liverpool too, with a string of impressive displays to his name so far, the latest in the Carabao Cup final victory over Chelsea.

All signs are that he could prove to be a bargain signing for Jurgen Klopp and co movings forward, with many expecting big things from the 25-year-old once he is fully adapted to life at Anfield.

Martinez is certainly one of those who believes he could become a star, insisting the forward is one of the most enjoyable players out there.

“He is a very simple player,” Marca’s Colombian edition report him saying.

“When he arrived at Porto there were doubts because he came straight from Colombia, but he had the opportunity to start playing immediately.

“He improved a lot tactically and will continue to do so at Liverpool. He tries so hard, he has the imagination, is a goalscorer and a creator.

“In the world, he is one of the most enjoyable to watch. He’s going to go much further with the confidence that his coach is giving him.”
