Reports from the Brazilian media continue to claim that the City Group is very close to completing the signing of Atlético Mineiro youngster Savinho.

According to reliable outlets such as Globo Esporte, Manchester City’s owners are about to spend €6.5m on the signing, with a further potential €6m in performance bonuses.

The website points out that Savinho’s agents now have a ‘great relationship’ with the City Group, as they also handled the transfers of Kayky, who’s at the Premier League side, and Metinho, who’s at Troyes.

Now the big doubt about this new signing is where he’s going to play. Globo Esporte points out the 17-year-old should also move to the French club, although other reports say there’s a Dutch battle for him.

According to Torcedores, Feyenoord and PSV have both been in touch with the City Group to know about the possibility of having Savinho on loan.

It’s claimed that even though he should indeed move to Troyes at first, Manchester City’s owners already see ‘with good eyes’ a spell in the Netherlands. That’s because he’d have a ‘fast adaptation’ to English football if playing for clubs who are fighting for titles.

In case that’s true, then the City Group indeed see Savinho as a potential player for Pep Guardiola’s side in the future.
