Marcelo Pitaluga’s transfer to Liverpool is now treated as ‘imminent’ by Fluminense, according to claims from Brazil.

Outlet Extra writes today that the Rio de Janeiro club are still negotiating over the Reds’ latest offer, but the move is ‘a matter of time’.

The report says that Liverpool’s bid consists of €1m up front, and another €1m depending on bonuses.

The offer is said to be ‘irrefutable’ both by Fluminense and the player, and that’s why the deal should be concluded soon. Given the financial impact of the Coronavirus crisis, the club need to bring some money in quickly.

Extra says the move should be easier because the player has German nationality. They add that Liverpool offered a place for him and his family, besides a job for his father.

Marcelo Pitaluga won’t even have a chance to make his debut for Fluminense’s first team. He’s currently the club’s fourth choice goalkeeper, as the starting spot is held by Alisson’s brother Muriel.
