The French media are now reporting Upamecano has chosen to swap RB Leipzig for Bayern, with L’Equipe saying that’s despite interest from ‘Liverpool in particular’ and Chelsea.
Liverpool moved for central defenders in January, yet it’s quite possible they’ll send Ozan Kabak back to Schalke in the summer and instead look at other options.
Whether this is such a loss for Liverpool or not is hard to clarify, given Jurgen Klopp’s side would have almost certainly been linked regardless of whether any interest was real.For a while this has looked all about Bayern, with the German media working to make the inevitable victory appear as impressive as possible.
