Liverpool have joined the chase for Borussia Dortmund’s Donyell Malen, according to Bild.

The winger has managed 13 goals and five assists from 33 games and it’s his best season since joining the club from PSV Eindhoven in 2021. His form has seen him receive interest from England.

Liverpool are mentioned and it’s claimed they are ‘keen’ on signing the 25-year-old in the summer.

Bild insist the Netherlands international would ‘fit ideally into’ the Merseyside club’s ‘full-throttle system’. The Reds’ interest isn’t new as they’ve already tried signing him in the past.

Jürgen Klopp will leave Anfield after this season and the Premier League side are yet to appoint his successor.

The Dutchman would be interested in making a switch to England, but he first wants to know who’ll be the next Reds manager, before considering a move to Liverpool.

Malen’s deal lasts until 2026 and Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl has expressed a desire to retain him beyond this season.

Bild state Malen is one of few Dortmund players who can earn the club a big fee. If Liverpool were to table an offer of €60m, the German club’s leaders would be willing to hold negotiations for a summer deal.

As well as Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal are also showing interest in Malen.
