Scott McTominay may have never 100% won over Manchester United fans, but it hasn’t taken long for it to happen at Napoli.
That’s at least if the latest comments from journalist Riccardo Trevisani, via Calcio Napoli 24, are anything to go by as he’s heaped praise on the midfielder.
McTominay made the move to Napoli from Manchester United in a €30.5m deal this summer, bringing an end to a lifelong association with United after coming up through their youth ranks.
He’s yet to become a key player for Antonio Conte at Napoli either but has made a positive start under the Italian with 16 minutes in the 4-0 win over Cagliari and then 90 minutes in the 0-0 draw with Juventus.
The Italian coach appears to have decided on a new role for the former Manchester United man, turning him into more of an all-action midfielder who runs directly at defences.
That’s so far worked to great effect and Trevisani has been majorly impressed by what he’s seen so far.
“Seeing McTominay live is incredible, impressive: he looked like Gulliver with children, they bounced off him!
“I thought he was playing in place of Politano, instead Conte worked with Politano on the full wing.”
The journalist wasn’t so pleased with Romelu Lukaku’s start to Napoli life, though.
