In an era when a Twitter account seems to run the Paris Saint-Germain transfer rumour mill and random Monaco fans suddenly become in the know about their clubs, fan websites are also picking up bits of information here and there.

This has already been the case in Italy, with some of them getting exclusive interviews with players and agents about transfer interest, and Marseille Mercato in France have come out of the woodwork with an exclusive of their own involving a Liverpool forward, and it makes a lot of sense.

That doesn’t necessarily means it’s true, and we could easily have a 2 + 2 = 5 scenario on our hands here, but when a team are desperately looking for a new striker and the Reds have a talented option sitting around doing nothing, it’s hard to ignore.

Making a name for himself in Ligue 1 at Lille, Divock Origi was meant to be the next big thing at Liverpool, and while he’s showed a lot of promise and versatility, he hasn’t quite convinced Jürgen Klopp, to such an extent that Dominic Solanke was picked up instead of giving the Belgian a chance.

Wanting to be a part of Roberto Martinez’s squad for the World Cup next year, the 22-year-old needs regular time on the field, and the Europa League hopefuls will be more than happy to give it to him if they are indeed interested.

Marseille Mercato claim that a move to the south of France could interest him, but the two clubs need to agree on terms first (obviously), with the Ligue 1 side said to be preparing a ‘€15m offer’.

We’ll have to wait and see if more comes of this, but if such an offer turns up on Liverpool’s desk, surely they’d have to consider it?

That’s them getting their money back.
