On October 24th, Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea claimed he’s held meetings with Newcastle United over the potential transfer of the Genoa player.

A week later, Manea backed up the Magpies’ interest, and also added that Newcastle are keeping close tabs on the defender. The agent has also revealed the Serie A side are ready to part ways with his client, if there’s an offer of around €30m.

Manea repeatedly insisting that Eddie Howe’s side could be an option for the 21-year-old hasn’t pleased Prima Sport analyst Cătălin Berindean.

The Romania international left his country to join Juventus’ youth team in 2018, and after spending two years with them, he was given an opportunity in their first team.

Lack of game time saw the Old Lady send the centre-back out on loan before selling him to Genoa earlier this year.

Even though Drăgușin has impressed at the Italian club, Berindean believes it’s too early for him to move to a club like Newcastle, and has also sent a firm warning to the agent.

“It’s like this thing that’s being talked about with Drăgușin and Razvan Marin to Newcastle. Let’s be fair! Razvan Marin has nothing to look for at Newcastle. Dragusin, yes, in a few years,” he said.

“Leave it to Drăguşin, Mr. Florin Manea, because he is behind these rumours. Mr. Florin Manea, let Drăguşin grow up for a few years in Italy and be patient because that’s why Romanian footballers don’t do anything outside, because we keep moving them from one club to another, and purposelessly and pointlessly!”

After the agent publicly talked about Newcastle, the Genoa star’s mother admitted yesterday that Radu has long maintained a dream to play in the Premier League.
