Dennis Praet’s return to Torino is ‘getting closer and closer’ after Leicester City opened up to a loan deal.

That’s according to Gianluca di Marzio, who says that the player is ‘approaching’ a return to the club following a loan spell there last year.

He explains that Praet’s return is nearing because Leicester have changed their stance and are ‘open’ to a loan deal once more.

Praet has been linked with a move away from Leicester for most of the summer, with it clear he is not a part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans.

The Foxes have been determined to secure a permanent exit, though, and recoup some of the €19.2m they paid to sign him from Sampdoria in 2019.

That’s led to difficult negotiations with a number of clubs, including Torino, with none of his Italian suitors all that keen on a permanent deal.

A report yesterday made it clear that they were holding ‘frantic contacts’ with Leicester over a move regardless.

That now seems to have progressed and Di Marzio says with the Foxes open to a loan deal, the midfielder is now closer to make a return.

He provides no details on the nature of the possible loan deal or anything of that nature but we’re sure those details will be available soon given the end of the window is getting closer and closer.
