Following reports that Arsenal had made an enquiry of some sort with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a deal for Leandro Paredes, it’s clear the Gunners are looking for a new midfielder before the end of the transfer window.

Whether they get one is a different matter, but it appears Edu Gaspar and his team are looking around to see if a deal can be done.

One of the players they have reportedly approached for is Seko Fofana, currently at RC Lens, who has been one of the more impressive players in Ligue 1 in his role.

This comes from Media Foot, who state Arsenal have ‘enquired’ with Lens about a potential deal, only to find the French side ‘closing the door to an exit’.

That’s because there would be such a small amount of time to replace him, and it’s made clear that ‘unless an offer superior to €30m’ were to be made, Fofana ‘will not leave’.

They add that, as things stand, the chances of a deal taking place are ‘slim’, especially with Arsenal seemingly negotiating in parallel for Mykhaylo Mudryk, regardless of the two men playing in very different positions on the pitch.
