On April 12th 2018, Sport Witness brought an exclusive on Leicester City interest in Ricardo Pereira.
There had been claims of an offer, but a source close to the player explained no bid had been submitted, just that Leicester had made an approach to find out the conditions of a signing, and would be taking things from there.
In one of the least complicated transfers that window, the Foxes received their information, negotiated a deal which pleased all involved, and Pereira flew to England just over a month later.
Perhaps Leicester have a similar Porto plan brewing.
The club had an official at Saturday’s match between Porto and Sporting, which the former won 2-1.
O Jogo don’t give any hint as to who Leicester are interested in this time, but the Portuguese media have been talking up several exits. Moussa Marega is thought to be on his way out, with West Ham believed the likeliest destination, and Alex Telles is also considered very likely to leave.
Telles is a left-back, and there have been rumours around a possible Ben Chilwell exit, with Manchester City thought to be keen.
Should Chilwell leave, it would be no surprise if Leicester swoop for Telles. The 26 year old Brazilian has six goals and eleven assists this season.
O Jogo say he said goodbye to Porto fans after the match.
Interest is also likely from elsewhere, with Manchester United, Everton and Sevilla among the clubs represented yesterday.
