Burnley are perhaps the Premier League team who get the fewest mentions in the European sport media.

They tend to focus recruitment more domestically, in comparison to other clubs in the league, and therefore there’s not a great deal to leak about chases for players.

European clubs, especially those in Portugal, often published lists of scouts attending matches. And, again, Burnley aren’t one of the Premier League sides often represented.

However, this weekend they sent someone to Portugal to watch the match between FC Porto and Sporting, as reported by O Jogo.

They saw Porto win 2-1, with goals from Hector Herrera and Danilo.

Herrera is a Mexican midfielder out of contract at the end of next month, however, he’s expected to join Atletico Madrid.

Burnley also scouted Porto in January, but there was no indication who they’re interested in signing. Striker Moussa Marega is expected to join West Ham for approaching €40m, and whilst left-back Alex Telles is very highly rated and also expected to leave, his price would also be high.
