Torino continue to work on a deal to bring Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet back to the club this summer.

That’s according to Corriere Torino, who say the Foxes are remaining firm on their desire to sell Praet in a full transfer.

The Belgian midfielder spent last season on loan with the Italian club, being shipped out when it was clear he wasn’t a part of Brendan Rodgers’ plans.

He established himself as a regular under Ivan Juric, and they are keen to take him back to Turin this summer.

The issue is, though, that they do not want to pay money to do so. Instead, they would prefer to have the player back on loan for a second season.

And that’s the issue holding up the current negotiations, according to Corriere Torino. They say that both Torino and Juric have made signing Praet from Leicester a ‘priority’.

The Foxes are ‘firm on the will’ to sell the Belgian midfielder outright, but Torino are currently only offering a loan with a conditional redemption obligation.

In plain speak, they want a loan with an option to buy, not even an obligation.

That doesn’t suit Leicester, who would clearly prefer to make money in a sale than loan out the player for a second straight year.

Perhaps there is a deal to be done on loan with an obligation to buy, but it seems negotiations on this one will take a while to work out either way.
