Yohan Benalouane and playing for Tunisia. Will he? Won’t he?

That’s pretty much the only news we’ve been able to find about the Leicester City defender over the past few months, mostly because no football teams in Europe are interested in his services.

It isn’t for lack of trying, either, as claims from Italy suggested the Foxes were offering the centre-back around, without any success.

Despite this, and only making four appearances for Leicester this season, all in the cups, Tunisia are still trying to convince him to represent them, and they might have finally got what they wanted.

When we last left this story, Kapitalis claimed that ‘federal members’ of the Tunisian FA were opposed to Benalouane teaming up with Wahbi Khazri and co.

However, Gnet.tn are now reporting, according to multiple sources, the 31-year-old is now likely to be called up for the next squad after chatting with the national team’s manager Nabil Maaloul.

Whether he actually plays is a whole different story, but this could be the end of this oh so thrilling saga.
