‘Everyone thinks of him’
That’s what Mundo Deportivo say about Luis Enrique in a Thursday look at where the former Barcelona manager could end up next season.
Linked with clubs including Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG, Enrique should have a reasonable choice open to him come the summer, and Mundo Deportivo bring Raul Sanllehi into the picture.
The former Barcelona executive recently joined Arsenal, and the Catalan newspaper point out he ‘knows Lucho well’.
It’s also stated that Arsenal are aware they need to freshen things up in the summer, and Enrique is a prime candidate given his successful time with Barcelona.
Sanllehi will be crucial in any Arsenal attempt to actually get Enrique to the club, with the two having a relationship being a distinct advantage for the Gunners over their competition.
Arsenal’s board may also look kindly upon Enrique, with him not seeming the type of manager to rock the boat too strongly, but then that was hardly necessary at Barcelona.
A new manager would be Arsenal’s most important summer signing, and Sanllehi would be right in the thick of it, which makes Enrique links all the more understandable.
Alternatively, say Mundo Deportivo, Luis Enrique could choose to continue doing his hobby, cycling, instead of his profession.
