Following the huge coverage that Leeds United’s promotion to the Premier League had in Argentine at the weekend, it’s now time for the local press to speak about the signings that Marcelo Bielsa may make for the next season.

Some outlets have been listing all players who’ve been recently linked to the Whites, and website El Intransigente has a story focusing on two targets.

The first one is the River Plate defender Lucas Martinez Quarta. The Buenos Aires side are in need of making money to settle their debts and he’s their biggest hope for a good income.

El Intransigente writes that the player is protected by a release clause of €25m, but it’s likely that Leeds will offer ‘much less’, and the Argentine club should negotiate because they need to ‘sell to pay off debts’.

The other target is Matias Zaracho. It’s claimed that his club Racing are not willing to let him go, but a ‘good offer’ would change their minds.

El Intransigente says his release clause is of US$24m, but they don’t seem to have any info on Leeds United’s efforts to sign him.

With the Whites expected to have a bigger budget for signings this summer, the Argentine media is hopeful that Marcelo Bielsa will go shopping in his home country and it’s said both players are ‘seen with good eyes’ from England after their performances with their respective clubs.
