Leeds United have joined the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur youngster Alex Pritchard, according to claims from the Daily Mirror. The 23-year-old looks surplus to requirements, and has been told by his club he can leave this summer.

Pritchard has been told by Tottenham Hotspur to find a new club after he was axed from the North London’s pre-season tour of Australia. This has prompted a number of clubs to try and sign the £8 rated attacking midfielder, including Leeds United.

The Championship side are still hoping to sign players before the transfer deadline despite already bringing in six players this summer. If they were sign Pritchard it would ideally be on a season long loan

There have been reports in the last 24 hours they are on the verge of securing the services of a midfielder, but the identity of the player hasn’t yet been disclosed.

However, Leeds United will face competition from fellow Championship sides Newcastle United and Norwich City. Premier League side Swansea City have also been linked.
