Michaël Cuisance had a very interesting Monday.

He’ll have awoken to see claims from L’Equipe that a transfer to Leeds United was closing in. This of course won’t have been a surprise, with the Premier League club interested for a while and a possible attempt reported by FootMercato over a week ago.

At the time, Leeds’ chances were largely dismissed in Germany, given Bayern Munich had already lost Thiago Alcantara from midfield and were expected to let Javi Martinez go.

Monday afternoon then saw reports from Germany of Cuisance having a training ground altercation with Robert Lewandowski. The player later sought to talk it down, but the German media were insistent on something happening.

Regardless, SportBild’s Christian Falk now states things have taken a step forward. Negotiations between Leeds United and Bayern Munich have entered the ‘decisive phase’ and Cuisance has even been given ‘permission to leave’.

There’s no explanation on transfer fee, or even the structure of a deal, and that would be expected to arrive later.
