Interviewed by Brazilian outlet Sportv this week, Chelsea winger Willian has had a long chat about his current life at the club and his plans for the future.

But the Brazilian media obviously covered Marcelo Bielsa’s historic press conference about regarding Leeds United and ‘Spygate’, so interviewing someone who plays in England would be a good chance to talk about the hot topic.

When first asked about the Elland Road spy, Willian claimed it wasn’t really needed, although he didn’t use any strong words about it.

“I think that happened a lot in the past. I don’t know, 10 years ago, even more, there was this story”, Willian told Sportv. “Nowadays, there is no longer this need. You can study the opposing team watching videos, games, advanced technology. You can see the way they play, defend, attack… There’s no need to put a spy. I don’t know if it’s lack of fair play, but it’s a bit odd to put a spy to watch.”

Then, when quizzed if Bielsa’s practice was unethical, he finally agreed with it: “I think so… the way it is done. There’s someone there that you don’t know who is filming the training to pass information. It may be unethical yes. As I said, there are several ways to study the opponent. You do not need to see anyone’s training. It was a bit unethical”.

In the interview, Willian still claimed he hasn’t received an offer from Barcelona, although they tried to sign him in the summer.

He also praised Maurizio Sarri’s game, compared it to Antonio Conte’s, and claimed that he’s not planning to return to Brazil, and should stay in London even after he stops playing.
