Leeds United have been handed a chance to sign rumoured target Josip Brekalo, with him pushing to leave Wolfsburg this summer.

That’s according to Kicker, who say the search for a new club is in ‘full swing’ for the 23-year-old.

Leeds have long been linked with a move for the Wolfsburg forward, with several reports over the last few months naming them as suitors.

Last month we covered a report that stated they were admirers’ of Brekalo, which was followed by another that stated they ‘appreciate’ him, and he’s pushing for a move.

Kicker follow that up today, and while there is no mention of Leeds specifically, it’s made clear that a deal is there to be done.

They state that Brekalo’s search for a new club is in ‘full swing’, and he wants to leave Wolfsburg with ‘all his might’.

He would rather take up a new challenge today than tomorrow but the issue at the minute is that a lack of ‘serious interested parties’ have not been forthcoming.

That could be about to change, though, with Kicker reporting that Torino are now interested in Brekalo and could move for him if they lose Andrea Belotti.

Wolfsburg, for their part, are asking for €15m, not an insurmountable figure for a Premier League side like Leeds.

Whether they will make a move remains to be seen but with Brekalo pushing for a move, the deal is there to be done if they want it.
