Tottenham defender Davinson Sánchez has backed compatriot Luis Sinisterra to be a hit in the Premier League, should he join Leeds United as expected.

Sinisterra is seemingly on the verge of joining Leeds in a €30m deal from Feyenoord after an impressive campaign for the Dutch side.

The 23-year-old managed 23 goals and 14 assists in 49 games for Feyenoord last season, including 11 goals and seven assists in 18 games in the Europa Conference League and its qualifiers.

It is those numbers which have made Leeds push to get a deal over the line, with them keen to sign the winger as a potential replacement for Raphinha, who could leave at some point this summer.

Whether Sinisterra can replace the Brazilian remains to be seen, given the impact he’s had at Elland Road since his arrival.

Sánchez is confident his international teammate can make the difference, though, backing him to hit the ground running like Luis Diaz has done at Liverpool.

“Leeds are competitive; it’s a team that everyone knows because of what Bielsa did for a long time,” AS report him saying.

“Lucho has been doing very well; he played in the final of a European tournament, and he has earned his place in Holland.

“He has conditions and qualities. He has already shown that in the national team.

“If he has the chance to come, he will compete, and I think what he has in his favour is that this is a league of duels, and he is very strong in duels, and he will be able to make a difference like Lucho Diaz. If he comes, the best of luck.”
