Chelsea and Manchester City are being linked to Villarreal defender Pau Torres, after several other Premier League clubs were said to be keen.

The news comes from Germany, where journalist Florian Plettenburg comes up with an update on the player’s situation. He claims the 25-year-old’s entourage has been in talks ‘with several clubs’.

There it’s said that the Spaniard was offered to both Chelsea and Manchester City. Those seem to be the main names, because even though he’s said to be wanted by Juventus, it’s pointed out that the Old Lady are now working on signing Bremer from Torino.

Torres, who’s been linked to multiple clubs in the past few months, is said to have a price tag of between €52m and €55m.

At least for now, Plettenberg doesn’t make it clear if either Chelsea or Manchester City had responded positively to the player being offered to them.

With Thomas Tuchel’s side still looking to sign another central defender this summer, Chelsea look a likelier option than Manchester City.
