Arsenal failed in their efforts to sign Arthur Melo in the January window, but it hasn’t stopped them from making another attempt this summer.

On Monday, TuttoMercatoWeb reported the Gunners have resumed contact with Juventus for the 25-year-old.

Later that day, Calciomercato.it reported the Serie A side have been in discussion with Arsenal for Gabriel Magalhães.

Juventus have an interest in the Brazilian to replace Matthijs de Ligt, who will soon seal a move to Bayern Munich. This claim is backed up by Italian journalist Marcello Chirico.

He told TMW Radio that Gabriel is the alternative target for Juventus. Their first choice is to sign Torino star Gleison Bremer. Chirico further states Arsenal are ‘in talks’ with the Old Lady for Arthur.

Mikel Arteta’s side wanting Arthur is also discussed by Tutto Juve. Their title states Arsenal ‘knock on Juventus’ door’ for the midfielder. Within the report, it’s said the two clubs have held discussions about the player’s future.

Juventus could negotiate the South American’s exit initially as a loan move, with a buying option set at around €30m.

With Juve providing conditions to let the player leave, Arsenal are ‘considering’ whether to make the ‘decisive lunge’ for Arthur in the ongoing window.
