We apologise for interrupting your peaceful morning with some breaking news from Spain: Real Madrid want Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for next season.

If, by this point, you haven’t rolled your eyes in disgust and closed your tab after this rather poor attempt at grabbing your attention, first of all, thank you.

Secondly, there’s good news in all this, and that’s the fact this information has not come from Don Balon.

Unfortunately, it’s come from the second worst source in Spain (in our opinion): El Chiringuito TV.

The TV show is well known for its ridiculously dramatic segments, and this time, Eduardo Inda, the director of OK Diario, is the one giving us the bombshell.

According to him, Zinedine Zidane is a huge fan of Mohamed Salah, and Real Madrid are ‘focused’ on trying to bring the Liverpool superstar to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Gareth Bale’s departure providing the hole required in the squad.

The Egypt international is described as the La Liga giants’ “dream”, but they are aware of the difficulties involved in bringing him in, all of them financial.

Much like Don Balon, Eduardo Inda claims the fee required to pull off the deal will need to be of at least €200m, which, following the issues Paris Saint-Germain have faced since completing the Neymar deal, is an amount we can’t see clubs spending on one player again anytime soon.
