Kolot Toure is in talks to sign a contract with Celtic, after playing for the club last season.
France’s RMC report that Toure’s talks with Celtic are ongoing, and a key part of the negotiations is a future role as a coach with the Scottish Premiership club.
The 36 year old feels he still has plenty to offer on the pitch, rather than going for a coaching role straightaway, and is quoted by RMC as saying: “I have the legs to continue one or two seasons.”
RMC state that Toure is well respected among the Celtic squad, and by manager Brendan Rodgers, with the defender taking Moussa Dembélé ‘under his wing’ last season.
There’s no suggestion on how the talks are going from the French media outlet, and the general line sounds positive for Toure staying at Celtic, but, it could all depend on a coaching role for the player.
Whether Rodgers is as keen on that as Toure is, will probably be what the whole thing depends upon.
