Impressing out on loan at Torino, Chelsea’s Ola Aina is widely expected to remain in Italy beyond the current campaign, as the Serie A club have expressed their desire to trigger the clause to make the move permanent.

The fee is believed to be around €10m, yet nothing has taken place so far, with the player himself not entirely sure what his future holds just yet.

Speaking to SCORENigeria, the wing-back said: “I can’t talk about the transfer right now, but I enjoyed my time there. We just have to wait and see what happens in the next few weeks.

“It was good (at Torino). It was a bold move by me, I was happy to make the move and it paid off.”

That it did, as the 22-year-old quickly became an important part of Walter Mazzarri’s plans in Turin, as the Italian side finished seventh in the league, narrowly missing out on a European spot.

Aina made 30 league appearances under the former Watford manager last season, scoring one goal and picking up three assists, as well as playing twice in the Coppa Italia.

Prior to that, he had only featured six times for Chelsea’s first-team despite being at the club for over five years.
