There are few things Sport love more than poking Jose Mourinho with a stick and portraying the former Real Madrid manager as some kind of dark knight.
In their Monday edition the Catalan newspaper publish a list of claims which they don’t credit to anyone, and present as their own. Although, it must be said it seems they’ve brought together various outlandish claims from several places to make the bigger story.
Sport are clearly trying to make Mourinho look like a money chasing cheque-book manager and claim that, after his flirting with PSG, Manchester United are set to offer their manager €22m a year to extend his contract and stay.
On top of that, Mourinho will also be handed four signings, the majority of which will be huge names.
Quite why Manchester United would need Griezmann, Bale and Forsberg isn’t stated, and the whole thing doesn’t really seem convincing. Sport, however, are convinced, and point out that English chatter of a Cristiano Ronaldo return is unlikely to come to anything, a sentence presented without any tongue in cheek, which is confident given their own claims.
