Despite Porto’s difficulty in finding a deal to sign Alfredo Morelos from Rangers, the Portuguese media is still certain that the Dragons will continue working hard to get him.

The Scottish press reported at the weekend that the clubs are still ‘miles away’ from an agreement, and the response from the other side is that the Liga NOS club won’t give up on the transfer.

Newspaper A Bola today features a story highlighting the ‘insistence’ from Porto to get Morelos from Steven Gerrard’s side.

They point out that following the Dragons’ first attempt, they’ve already managed to get ‘absolute success’ with the striker and his manager, agreeing to a five-year deal.

However, they now struggle to meet Rangers’ demands of €15m.

Meanwhile, as newspaper Jornal de Notícias highlights the fact that Porto have already set a ‘plan b’ for the summer, they’re still focused on the signing of Morelos.

The newspaper writes that the Colombian still continues to be the club’s ‘priority’, even though the talks with Rangers are expected to be ‘complicated’.

Following the discouraging claims from Scotland, Jornal de Notícias now writes that Rangers ‘seem unwilling to give in to pretensions and the situation could drag on for some time.’
