It appears there is some confusion regarding the future of Nikola Milenkovic, currently on his way out from Fiorentina.

The Serbian defender has been linked with a move to the Premier League this season, with West Ham United the apparent favourites to sign him, even if they do face some staunch competition in the form of Juventus.

Paolo Bargiggia, an Italian journalist, took to his website, paolobargiggia.it, on Monday to reveal that the Serie A side have ‘planned to push from next with Fiorentina for Milenkovic’.

While that isn’t great for West Ham, the next bit of information could be, as the reporter claim that with his deal expiring in 2022, a deal ‘can be closed for €10m’.

That’s a lot cheaper than any fee we’ve seen so far, and really doesn’t fall in line with previous reports, such as this one from Calciomercato, who claimed the Hammers had made an offer of €20m that was ‘still far from’ the demands from Rocco Commisso, Fiorentina’s chairman.

Either the owner is trying to get far more money from Premier League clubs than those from Serie A, or someone is very wrong in their reporting.
